The Trilogy Part 2
Everyone loves parties. Especially with all the games, entertainment and gyration at the end.
Whether you’re the person celebrating or the person getting free food. 🤭
But instead of you focusing on that wedding, you've been staring at some of the asoebi girls for the past 2 hours. (You like what you see?🌚)
People like me no send una. I just want to mind my business, eat peppered goat meat and dance my legwork in peace.
Be it birthdays, anniversaries, or just regular hangouts. As long as there’s food and music, the party don set. While the foodies are fighting to serve food, the AITs and BBCs are trying to secure the best seat for their long necks to get all the action. Amebo😏
But how can we forget the one leading the pack?
The anchor, hype man and comedian in one?
The Master of ceremonies himself! 🔥
And on the night before reaching their destination, we see Master Moisturizer cracking the ribs of the occupants of the SC cruise ship.
He’s giving them back to back to back. 🥳
Captain Cleanser enters the party, and the MC goes wild!
“My first in command! Shine shine bobo!
Odogwu na cleanser! Mr spick and span!
Na mumu dey use imperial leather for face!!” 🌚
Everybody loves Master Moisturizer. And Master Moisturizer dey for everybody. 😎
Whether you have oily skin, dry skin, combination skin or normal skin, e no matter.
Everybody hires Master Moisturizer to anchor their skin together, maintain the protective function against harsh conditions and infections and still keep our skin feeling soft and properly hydrated.
Losing water from the skin is quite easy. And if there happens to be a crack somewhere? Get ready for intense dryness and dullness, with a few flakes here and there.
That’s why we all need a moisturizer. We need its superpowers. The humectants that draw water into the skin, the emollients that fix up the cracks and strengthen the skin and the occlusives that lock and seal in every moisture.
But not everybody can use the same type of moisturizer.
Oily skin works best with gels and non-comedogenic moisturizers that are light and have more water than oil.
While dry skin will need creams and ointments of higher oil ratio to lock all that extra hydration in.
Lotions and light creams sit somewhere in the middle, and that’s where normal skin can pitch their tent.
The lesser the ingredients on the back of the product, the better for sensitive skin. Bonus points if it’s unscented and allergen-free.
Combination skin can have different moisturizers for the oily and dry parts of their face or go solo with a light water-based moisturiser.
The best time to make use of Master Moisturizer is always after contacting Captain Cleansers. Especially when your skin is still damp, and not dry. Get all that water inside.
Day and night use of moisturizers are required for all skin types, but sometimes oily skin can get away with applying once a day. Despite that, everyday use is paramount for moisturizers.
Be it using the same lotion for morning or night, or day cream and night cream. As long as it’s working for your skin, it’s alright.
I did not say using the same lotion for body and face. 🧐
The skin on your face, ears, neck and chest are more sensitive and shed more cells compared to the rest of the body. Therefore it’s always a good idea to have at least two different moisturizers, one for the face and the other for the body.
You can use a light lotion during the day and a thicker cream at night when the weather is much cooler. But if heat is a disturbing factor 🥲, please stick to the light moisturizers.
How do you even apply a moisturizer properly?
By making sure your face is still damp after cleansing. Using your fingertips, apply a pea-size amount of moisturizer in drops all over your face, then gently rub or massage it in with circular motions, not forgetting the neck and chest.

Be sure to have clean hands so as not to introduce dirt to your skin.
When getting a moisturizer, look out for products with hyaluronic acid, glycerin or ceramides. You should also be on the lookout for products that contain Vitamins such as Vitamin C or E or Antioxidants such as green tea or chamomile.
Nevertheless, this is not an extensive list as there are a wide variety of ingredients. When in doubt, keep things simple.
Far away from ingredients and whatnot, there are natural ways of retaining moisture in the skin.
Number one. Drink water.
Number two. If you can’t drink your water, eat your water by way of fruits and foods high in water content.
Number 3, reduce your stress. Try dey sleep. I know Lagos people will complain but better increase that 2 hours of sleep to 6 hours.
Number 4. Reducing alcohol intake, salt intake and keeping fit help to reduce stress which can cause tiny cracks in the skin that lead to dehydration.
I don give una expo🧏♀️
OGs! The people that know it all! 👏
You want to combine moisturizer and facial oil so that you can open Snapchat filter and pepper us with glowing skin.
If it’s dry skin you have, I can pardon you. But woe betide you your skin is not dry or you skip the moisturizer completely and use only the oil. You are inviting trials and tribulations into your skin.
And I will not be there to suffer it with you. 💁♀️
Only use a facial oil if it is beneficial to you, and not otherwise. Please.
For the OGs that are using an acne spot treatment, especially the ones containing benzoyl peroxide.
The moisturizer will have to jump and pass the area where the acne is. Or if you’ve already applied it, clean off the area affected and apply your acne treatment.
The main aim is to not let the acne treatment and moisturiser come in contact with each other.
They are sworn enemies. 👺
And yes, I’ve saved the best for last. For the awoof brethren that want to save money.
You can use a moisturizer that also has sunscreen in it. As long as the SPF stays at 30 and above, you can knock out two steps with one product.
Or maybe you don’t want to combine steps. You like to have everything separate. Then you’ll have to stick around, leave a clap, comment or follow me, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll ask Senior Sunscreen for an interview. 😌
